For a number of years BWF has been honored to be work with the Center for International Education, Development & Research (CIEDR) at Indiana University to host Fulbright Distinguished Teachers.  As part of a program awarded to Indiana University by the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, teachers from other countries come to Bloomington for a period of 4 to 5 months for emersion in the current thinking about the best teaching methods in the US.  As part of the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching program, these teachers take courses, lead master classes and seminars, visit local schools, collaborate with each other online and in person, and complete an inquiry project of their own design.

The teachers definitely have a heavy schedule but they are open to learning about how people live in the US and in particular in Bloomington.  BWF has matched interested teachers with BWF hosts for cultural exchange.   Here are some pictures of a recent farewell party hosted by BWF for the teachers just before they returned to their home countries.
